Despite the glitz and glamour of Hollywood that allures thousands to California every year, there is a dark under belly to the city of Angels that people don’t want to talk about.
The reality is that some of the unseen executives and producers are notorious for gross mis behavior. While this is always whispered about, there have been very few accusations that have reached the actual point of filing lawsuits.
Last week, the hammer dropped on Harvey Weinstein, when actress Lisa Bloom filed a lawsuit against the infamous movie producer.
Other film stars like Ashley Judd, Meryl Streep, Judy Dench, and Lauren Sivan have come forward with their own claims of misconduct. Sivan sat down with the Today show to come forward with her own story. She spoke for the first time in 10 years since the incident took place.
While there is outrage over the issue. The outrage is not as widespread as one might think. When compared to the firestorm that fell when audio tapes were leaked of Trump’s off hand comments about how he’d treat females, Weinstein is barely eliciting a blip on the radar?
Every night Jimmy Kimmel makes fun of the President. Granted, there’s lots of material there and Trump feeds that machine. Trump’s comments on women were wrong and are wrong. It’s amazing the back bending the conservative went through to excuse his behavior, and yet he’s still ridiculed for it daily.
Where is all the outrage from the left?
Donald Trump Jr. tried to stir things up with Kimmel, and was pretty quickly shut down. (Word to the wise: Don’t pick Twitter fights with stand up comedians.)
That’s as far as Kimmel has ventured so far into being critical of Weinstein’s actions.
Could it be that everyone is afraid of being black balled in Hollywood?
Which means that they’re scared of not getting a paycheck.
Which really means that they’re more concerned about their own pocket book versus things that like Women’s Rights in the workplace.
Doesn’t add up does it?
Weinstein’s career is ruined, but his atrocities are only the tip of the iceberg. The women that have come forward are brave, and they don’t come forward lightly. However their actions are insuring that future generations of young girls with dreams of stardom won’t face the same disgusting situations that they have.
