Vegas Shooting Victim Wakes From Her COMA, Hears The Words We’ve All Been Waiting For

When Tina Frost attended the Route 91 Harvest music festival, she went having no idea how radically altered her life would forever become.

When Steven Paddock unleashed his deadly hail of gunfire, he killed indiscriminately and mercilessly. One of his victims was 27 year old, Tina Frost. She was attending the concert with her long time boy friend.

Frost was shot in the forehead, and the bullet came in at an angle on the left side of her forehead, and exited her right eye. Unfortunately Tina’s right eye was lost in the ordeal.

Tina’s Mom told Good Morning America what it was like seeing her daughter for the first time in the hospital, where she was in a coma.

“When I went in, I didn’t even recognize her. It was all I could do to keep composed.”

Miraculously, Tina woke up Friday, and was showing signs that she would recover well, despite the horrific trauma she underwent.

A family spokesman released this statement about the awesome news,

“Today has also been a big day for our TT – she is now waking up!” the spokesperson wrote. “She opens her left eye just a lil and looks all around the room at us, taps her feet whenever music is playing, continues to squeeze our hands, and even gives [boyfriend] Austin [Hughes] a thumbs up when asked. She sometimes taps to music and also took her first steps today with the assistance of the nurses – 3 steps to the chair and 3 steps back to the bed.”

Tina’s family has set up a GoFund Me page for her. Their goal was to raise $50,000. So far they have raise over $500,000!

A hopeful update from the page reads,

“Tina is out of surgery and her vitals are stable. They removed her right eye, where the bullet was lodged, and there is an implant there now to keep the space open. She has sight in her left eye but will never see from the right again. They took out a bone from her forehead to allow the brain room to swell, that will stay out for a few months. She’s in a coma and on a ventilator, she cannot breathe on her own. She’s critically stable in ICU for at least a week. Over the next few days, they’re going to see how she responds to simulation, but until then, we won’t know how bad the brain damage is.”

Tina is truly be blessed to have come out of the coma so quickly. She’s breathing on her own and walking on her own. She has a long road ahead of her, but is on the road to recovery.
