Twitter Allows Hashtag “Die Trump” To Trend

If you didn’t believe the media and tech had a political bias before, you will after hearing that Twitter allowed the hashtag “Die Trump” to trend for over six hours!

Now I am all for freedom of speech, but calling for our President to die is an obvious threat and this trend should have never been allowed to take place. Additionally, Twitter rules state that the platform will prevent content from trending for a small number of reasons, including if it threatens violence against an individual or a group of people.

According to Breitbart, “the phrase began to trend after Turkish Twitter users reacted with anger to President Donald Trump’s promise to “totally destroy and obliterate the economy of Turkey” if the country did anything “off-limits” following the U.S. pullout from Northern Syria.”

“totally destroy and obliterate the economy of Turkey”
….the captured ISIS fighters and families. The U.S. has done far more than anyone could have ever expected, including the capture of 100% of the ISIS Caliphate. It is time now for others in the region, some of great wealth, to protect their own territory. THE USA IS GREAT! — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 7, 2019

In responding to the President’s tweet, Turkish politician and chairman of the left-wing nationalist Patriotic Party, Doğu Perinçek, tweeted back “Mr. Trump you can destroy only USA,” adding the hashtag “#MahvolursunTrump,” which translates to “Die Trump” which began trending on Turkish Twitter.

A number of people jumped on the trend to add their own comments, such as “snake Trump,” or (translated) “you are doomed to be destroyed.”

After finally removing the hashtag and putting an end to the “Die Trump” trend, Twitter apologized on for allowing the phrase to trend. “This phrase should not have appeared in trends, and we’re sorry for this mistake. At times, we do prevent certain content from trending and we have now done so with this trend,” a Twitter spokesperson told Breitbart News.

“This phrase should not have appeared in trends, and we’re sorry for this mistake.”

It seems like these “mistakes” are able to happen a lot more frequently and for a lot longer when they are directed at the target of their own agenda’s attack. If a meme gets posted on Twitter that paints Nancy Pelosi or Elizabeth Warren in a bad light then it gets flagged and removed almost immediately, but the hashtag “Die Trump” was allowed to be on the top trends page for HOURS before the company removed it.

The bias is outrageous and if you still don’t believe that it’s there then you just don’t see the facts right in front of you.
