The media has done a pretty good job of constantly demonizing President Donald Trump, but this phone call that was released by a soldier’s widow gives us a glimpse into the soul of the real man and what he care about.
People like democratic congresswoman Frederica Wilson would like Americans to believe that the president is incapable of showing compassion for his fellow man, but that clearly isn’t the case in the slightest.
When Wilson proclaimed that the president had disrespected the family of a fallen soldier, the main-stream media took it, and propagated it as gospel. Fortunately for the president, the wife of a fallen soldier has taken it upon herself to reveal the intimate conversation she had with the president.
During a phone call with widow Natasha De Alencar, the president made it a point to reiterate on multiple occasions that her husband was “an unbelievable hero.” Natasha’s husband, Staff Sgt. Mark R. De Alencar, was killed in Afghanistan earlier this spring. After thanking her for her husband’s service, the president implores her to visit him in the White House.
“If you’re around Washington, you come over and see me in the Oval Office,” he said. “You just come over and see me because you are just the kind of family … this is what we want.”
President Trump then asks for Natasha to tell her children that their father “was a great hero that I respected.”
“Just tell them I said your father was a great hero.”
Rest assured that the president shows nothing but love for the family of those who serve our country.
Hopefully this puts to rest any notion that the president is one to disrespect a Gold Star family. This is the same guy calling on the NFL to do something about players kneeling during the anthem. This is the same guy who claims to call every family whose loved one has been killed in action while serving overseas.
President Trump has many faults, but mistreatment of those who serve our country is not one of them.
