There is something inside of all of us that pushes us to be great.
While some will try put these callings away because it elevates the self, if one realizes that these are God given dreams, and they exist to propel us to do great things for the Kingdom of God, then everything falls into its proper place.
If we weren’t meant to push ourselves, why then would Paul encourage us with Philippians 4:13? The famous verse reads, “I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Tim Tebow, became more famous for his faith on and off the field than his athletic ability, but it was his athletic ability that gave him a platform to reach millions for the sake of Jesus.
Tim’s new book, This Is The Day, is written for those of us who have big dreams, but also deal with the fear that can stagnate those dreams.
Tim speaks to the purpose of why he wrote this book now,“now is the time to take some risks, to quiet the voices of defeat, to step forward and make a mark, because this is the day.”
He encourages the readers of the book to quit being “one day-ers.” Meaning people that say, ‘One day I’m going to go on a mission trip. One day I’m going to tell my dad I love him. One day I’m going to have a life of impact, a life of purpose.’
“We just don’t know how many days we’re going to have.”
“That’s why it’s so important to live each day as if it’s the last day you have. Yes, that sounds cliche, but I think a lot of people give up on their dreams, because it doesn’t always go the way that you want it to go.”
“We have to go back to the truth, understanding what God says about you. Who you are, you’re title, a child of God, and God has a plan for you.”
The dreams have in our hearts are there for a reason, and were put there by God. The only catch is they won’t just happen on their own. God will always meet us and back us up, but we have to step out in faith first.
Hebrews 11:6 says, “Without faith it’s impossible to please God.”
Stepping out and taking action towards our dreams shows God that we trust Him to follow through and back us up, and he loves every step of the journey.
What dream will you pursue today?
