The old saying goes “children are the future,” and if that is the case, then we are in a lot of trouble.
Today’s youth are growing up with this strange sense of entitlement where they believe they should be given things without having to work for them. If they don’t get what they want, they blame everyone else, claiming to be the victims of some supposed system.
Examples of these claims can be seen all across our nation’s college campuses. Institutions of higher learning, that once prided themselves on challenging students, and molding the best and the brightest, are quickly becoming safe-spaces void of critical thinking, and personal responsibility.
The University of California at Berkeley used to be one of the most prestigious schools not only on the west coast, but in the entire country. For years, Berkeley stood as a beacon of free speech, and free thinking, but those days have long since passed, and have been replaced with students hell-bent on blaming ‘whitey’ for the world’s problems.
A video has been circulating on the internet for a few weeks now, and is a good example of just how dumbed-down our nation’s young people have become.
Prior to taking a test that had been scheduled from the beginning of the semester, several students stood up in class to protest their professor, and demanded a “take-home” exam. Their reasoning? Mexico, and Puerto Rico have natural disasters, and the teacher is racist.
I mean, come on kids. We all know you probably spent all semester partying, and going to those silly protests. Had you been studying, you wouldn’t be needing to make a fuss in class.
However, since they clearly didn’t prepare for the exam, they find a way to blame someone else. That’s the level of idiocy we are dealing with, America. Our future thinks that everything is everyone else’s fault, and that the world is against them.
“Instead of an exam we will have a take-home essay,” one of the students demanded. “Our well being is being put on the line because of emotional, mental, and physical stress that this university is compounding with what is already going on in our daily lives.”
Hey, newsflash, you don’t have to go to college. If your every day life is so hard, then it is absolutely ridiculous to throw college on top of that. Perhaps if these kids had their lives in order, school wouldn’t be so hard.
However, when you’re a social justice snowflake, nothing is your fault.
Never mind that other students came to class, and were ready for the test. Never mind that they pay a lot of money to attend a once proud university. Since these four students came unprepared, the entire class must bow to their demands. If they don’t, then they are “racist”.
As the students continued to ramble on, one of the people in class yells out “is this a filibuster?” prompting the rest of the room to laugh. That’s when the snowflakes cried out “how about you respect someone else talking!”
Respect? These kids are getting in the way of their peers from learning, and they have the gall to talk about respect?
Side note, why are these kids rocking the Obama tucked in mom-jeans look? Are kids watching “Saved By The Bell” again?
The blabber mouths continue on, demanding others in class “to listen, you have to listen!”
“Are you trying to silence us right now?” the girl in the “Caution: Educated Student of Color” shirt asks.
No, lady, these kids are trying to take their test, and go on with the rest of their lives.
After hearing that their fellow classmates tell them this, one of the young men on stage shows his true racist colors, calling his classmate a “white boy with privilege” without ever having met the guy.
So, I guess it’s okay to assume all white people come from wealth and privilege, but it’s racist to say illegal aliens bring crime into our country?
After a few minutes, the professor had heard enough, and decided to give his thoughts on what the students were saying.
“With that, we are going to go ahead with the exam, not in spite of the demonstrations, but to show that all of us, as part of a community, are capable of doing what a university does.”
The professor goes on to tell students that if he postpones an exam every time there’s a demonstration on campus, that there would never be any exams!
Naturally, when faced with personal responsibility, the young American will look to blame something else. In this instance, the teacher being white was enough to dismiss everything that he says.
“You only think that because you don’t come from our community,” one of the students accused, thinking that a person who doesn’t like them is incapable of “getting it”.
“Understand your privilege,” says another student. I guess in their mind, being white means you lack all credibility.
Ultimately, the group of students who were “protesting” left the class, and wound up not taking the test.
Not to get picky, but couldn’t they have just taken a knee during the test?
Sadly, this is becoming the norm. People aren’t to blame for their own shortcomings. It’s everyone else’s fault.
Buckle up, folks. If these kids represent the future, we might not have one for very long.
