With all the arguing going on in the Capitol, it’s no shock that as the days drag on, more and more people are starting to step up and become more vocal about where they stand.
So, after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi asked the president to move the date of the State of the Union address, it’s no wonder people are starting, notably people of importance. Due to the partial government shutdown, Sen. Rand Paul suggested President Donald Trump continue with his speech but proposed he give it somewhere else instead of the House.
Pelosi wrote this letter to President Trump:

After all the fuss, Rand Paul has come up with a solution to the issue. Senator Paul said to ‘Fox and Friends’ Pelosi’s request is an “real affront to the American people,”
Rand Paul suggested that if the State of the Union address won’t be held in the House, President Trump should be able to deliver his State of the Union address in the Senate instead.
The fact that is it traditionally held at the House shouldn’t matter right now, all that should matter is that he is able to give it despite Pelosi trying to stop it from happening.
Rand Paul stated: “What I would suggest is Senator McConnell’s in charge of the Senate; let’s host it in the Senate. This would be the first time in history that the House would deny the president the forum of speaking. If she’s going to do that, let’s hold it in the Senate.”
Senator McConnell is in charge of the Senate. If Mrs. Pelosi refuses to allow the president to deliver the State of the Union in the House, I propose we move it to the Senate and make it happen! — Senator Rand Paul (@RandPaul) January 17, 2019
Senator John Kennedy also made comments in regards to the address saying: “We both know why she’s doing it. It’s just another poke at the president. I think they need to stop poking each other and try to come to the table and work this out. If I were the president, I would hold it. He can come to the Senate.”
Even Texas Senator Ted Cruise said that Pelosi’s letter made it clear “just how extreme and radical congressional Democrats are.”
We couldn’t agree more with what is being said by these parties, Pelosi needs to stop playing games and get to talking with other politicians to end the Government shutdown and come to terms with the wall.
