“I have total confidence that the FISA process was followed, and that the entire case was handled in a thoughtful, responsible way by DOJ and the FBI.”
Those were the words of former FBI Director James Comey more than a year ago in 2018 on Capitol Hill.
Over the course of the next year the left-wing media would lift Comey up to be some sort of white knight fighting against an “evil” Trump administration, but the recent IG report indicates there were a lot of problems in regards to the investigation handled by the FBI. Sadly, it took an investigation to force Comey to admit there were some issues in an investigation he claimed to have “total confidence” in.
Last week we learned from Inspector General of the United States Department of Justice Michael Horowitz that the FBI abused the FISA courts to obtain permission to surveil the Trump Campaign. One of the most damning findings was the fact that the Steele Dossier, funded by the DNC, was used in the FISA process. Lindsey Graham broke the entire thing down during his opening statement last week that was not aired on CNN or MSNBC…
Sunday, during an interview with Fox News’ Chris Wallace, the former FBI head honcho reluctantly said that he was wrong for claiming total vindication of any wrongdoing during his tenure.
““He’s right, I was wrong,” Comey said in reference to the Horowitz report. “I was overconfident in the procedures that the FBI and Justice had built over 20 years. I thought they were robust enough. It’s incredibly hard to get a FISA.”
“He’s right: There was real sloppiness.”
Sloppiness is an understatement. There weren’t just punctuation and spelling mistakes. Emails were doctored by people in the FBI. Innocent Americans were spied on. Lives were ruined. All because some people in the FBI didn’t want then-candidate Donald Trump to become the president.
Wallace pushed back by telling Comey his response makes it sound like he was just some bystander, and not the person at the top of food chain.
“Sure, I’m responsible,” Comey says. “If I were still director I’d be saying exactly the same thing.”
Fortunately, Comey was fired from his position for allowing such actions to take place, but the media didn’t report that. Instead, the media went after President Trump, saying that Comey was fired for not doing the president’s bidding. It turns out, he was fired for gross negligence.
“So now Comey’s admitting he was wrong,” President Trump tweeted. “Wow, but he’s only doing so because he got caught red handed.”
While folks on the left like to think President Trump, the billionaire real estate tycoon turned media superstar, is some sort of idiot who says whatever comes to mind, the truth is the man is a master of manipulation.
He’s the President of the United States. Are we to really believe that he wasn’t the first one to know about the FBI’s misconduct? Do you not think there were members of the DOJ telling him on day one to look into these FISA applications?
President Trump goes on to say that “He was actually caught a long time ago,” indicating that Comey had been found out long before he was allowed to go on his press tour declaring his innocence. Hell, he even wrote a couple books!
“So what are the consequences for his unlawful conduct,” the President asks. “Could it be years in jail? Where are the apologies to me and others, Jim?”

The president also went after Michael Horowitz for refusing to declare that there was bias in the investigation, noting that he was an Obama appointee.
“As bad as the I.G. Report is for the FBI and others, and it is really bad, remember that I.G. Horowitz was appointed by Obama. There was tremendous bias and guilt exposed, so obvious, but Horowitz couldn’t get himself to say it. Big credibility loss. Obama knew everything!”
