Their marriage and family was rocked when Noah, at the age of 3, was diagnosed with liver cancer in 2016.
“We are devastated about the recent cancer diagnosis of our oldest son Noah who is currently undergoing treatment in the US,” Bublé wrote on Facebook at the time.
He continued by saying, “Luisana and I have put our careers on hold in order to devote all our time and attention to helping Noah get well. At this difficult time, we ask for your prayers and respect for our privacy. We have a long journey in front of us and hope that with the support of family, friends and fans around the world, we will win this battle, God willing.”
In a recent episode Carpool Karaoke with James Corden, Bublé appeared in a special Stand Up to Cancer episode. Bublé talked about his now 5 year old son, who has been declared cancer free.
He told Corden, “It’s so hard to have to acknowledge it, because it’s so painful” and went on to say, “We got the diagnosis, and that was it man, my whole life ended” He was brought to tears talking about his son, “It’s too hard to talk about man,” the singer said, struggling at first to talk about it.
Bublé told Corden that during treatment, he was the one to stay strong for his family, but after learning that Noah was alright, he fell apart. “I’m not OK,” he admitted.
“My wife, honestly, when this all started, I became the strength to somehow pull us and lift us and to be positive. And when they got [the cancer] out and the chemo was done and they said, ‘We did it, it’s good, he’s ok,’ I fell, I just fell. My wife picks me up now.
At the end of the episode Bublé urges viewers to make a donation to Stand Up To Cancer. Bublé says that although his son Noah loves super heroes like Spiderman, he tells him that, “they’re fake, they’re not real. You are a super hero, you are my hero, my real super hero.”
