According to one Massachusetts librarian, The Cat In The Hat, and other beloved books written by Dr. Seuss are full of “racist propaganda.”
The first lady gave books written by the beloved children’s author to award winning schools across the country, but one woman has decided to make an issue out of a gift.
Most children understand that when you don’t like a gift, you simply say “thank you,” and go on with life. Nobody is making you use the gift. Sadly, this woman obviously missed that lesson.
In a very wordy, finger-wagging letter, the librarian snobbishly wrote that “Dr. Seuss is a bit of a cliché, a tired and worn ambassador for children’s literature.” Maybe that’s why she dressed up as ‘The Cat’ last year:
She told the first lady “it was a wonderful gesture, if one that could have been better thought out”, as though free books are something to be scoffed at.
While it is unfortunate that this woman is unable to understand the concept of an award, the fact is people like her are educating our children.
Now, one of the biggest problems with this entire thing is the fact that this librarian is simply a phony. First of all, she clearly is a fan of Seuss. Secondly, what sense does it make to take a gift, and make a political statement out of it?
Sure, it’s great this lady wants to expand children’s literature, but the fact that she is using this moment to be something of a bully is more telling of her mental state than anything else.
The first lady will continue to encourage children in their education, and hopefully this woman will get the help she so desperately needs.
We can’t let the loons on the left take control of literature. If Dr. Seuss is racist, and inappropriate for kids, then I guess Mark Twain is next… These people do know the Nazis were the ones burning books, right?
