Joe Biden knows that he is prone to making mistakes with his speech, but this latest gaffe takes the cake.
“I am a gaffe machine,” a self aware Joe Biden once said. “But my God what a wonderful thing compared to a guy who can’t tell the truth.”
While in Iowa over the weekend, the former vice president asked the crowd how they felt about bridges collapsing in Ohio.
“How many unsafe bridges do you still have here in Ohio?” he asked a very confused crowd, before realizing he wasn’t in Ohio. “I mean Iowa.”
But that’s mild compared to this. C-SPAN broadcasted Biden’s speech, and viewers noticed something was off with his presentation. Most notably, the fact that he spent a good portion of it talking to the wall behind him.
Yes, that’s Joe Biden talking to a wall while a crowd stares on confused. Yet, you won’t see democrats saying the man is”unfit for office”. In fact, his campaign’s deputy manager Kate Bedingfield has said that it’s “unfair” how the media treats Biden.
“If you listen to what candidates say all day as they’re out campaigning — they’re out in front of cameras, they’re in front of people, they’re talking all day. Everybody’s going to slip up and misstate a name or a date or a location — it happens all the time,” she told MSNBC. “It doesn’t get the outsize attention that Joe Biden gets. So I understand that’s part of being a front-runner. But I also think that people know him, [and] part of his charm is that they understand that they’re getting it straight from him. It’s not overly packaged. He’s always speaking from his heart.”
They might think that Biden is being picked on because he’s the democrat frontrunner, but there wouldn’t be anything to pick on if the man would just get out of his own way.
Next time Sleepy Joe hits the stage, he should at least ask what state he’s in.
