With the Democrats getting poised to do a deep dive into the President Trump/Ukraine investigation and Joe Biden being set up to become collateral damage, you might think the DNC is getting ready to put all of their eggs in the Elizabeth Warren basket… but not so fast.
A familiar face has been making the rounds in main stream media. With appearances scheduled this week for Late Show with Stephen Colbert and The View, a book tour taking her to Brooklyn, Chicago, Portland, San Fran, Los Angeles, and every other major city, a recent presentation role at a GU Women & Peace event, a speech at NARAL’s 50th anniversary celebration, and an interview that just aired on CBS Sunday Morning, Hillary Clinton is finding herself back in the spotlight. She’s also been very active on twitter the past week, tweeting a link to the published whistleblower complaint with the caption “Every American should read this…” and “The president of the United States has betrayed our country. That’s not a political statement – it’s a harsh reality, and we must act. He is a clear and present danger to the things that keep us strong and free. I support impeachment”. The hypocrisy of the latter tweet not withstanding, this schedule is likely to raise a few eyebrows.
Sure, she did just release a book co-written with her daughter Chelsea about courageous women, but the timing still seems odd. It begs the question, “does the DNC realize that they have no candidates of value now that they’ve pushed out all the non-radical moderates?” It almost seems like this supposed impeachment narrative isn’t actually for impeachment at all, but really just an attempt at painting President Trump as a criminal while simultaneously ousting their beleaguered and clumsy frontrunner to replace him with the only candidate to come close to defeating the incumbent. This is a situation worth keeping an eye on.
