“How The Grinch Stole Christmas” Is About Democrats Hating The Holidays

When Dr. Seuss wrote “How The Grinch Stole Christmas” I doubt he had the future of American politics in mind, but it turns out he ended up creating the perfect literary example of the American democrat.

While most people should be familiar with the timeless classic, let’s just briefly summarize the plot of the story before we break it down.

The Grinch is about a creature that hates a holiday that he (it) doesn’t even celebrate. Sound familiar?

Here’s the story of the Grinch:

The Grinch is a bitter, grouchy, cave-dwelling creature who hates Christmas. He resides on the snowy Mount Crumpit, a steep high mountain just north of the town of Whoville, home of the merry and warm-hearted Whos. His heart has been “two sizes too small”. His only companion is his unloved, but loyal dog, Max. From his cave, the Grinch can hear the noisy Christmas festivities that take place in Whoville. Continuously annoyed, he devises a wicked scheme to steal their presents, trees, and food for their Christmas feast. He crudely disguises himself as Santa Claus, and Max as a reindeer, whom he forces to drag a sleigh down the mountain towards Whoville, where the Grinch slides down the chimney of one house and steals all of the Whos’ Christmas presents, the Christmas tree, and the log for their fire. He is briefly interrupted in his burglary by a little who girl named Cindy Lou, but he concocts a crafty lie to effect his escape from her home. After stealing from one house, he does the same thing to all the other houses in the village of Whoville.
After spending all night stealing stuff from the houses of Whoville, the Grinch travels back to the top of Mount Crumpit, intending to dump all of the Christmas stuff into the abyss. As dawn arrives, the Grinch expects the Whos to let out bitter and sorrowful cries, but instead, they sing a joyous Christmas song. The Grinch is puzzled until it dawns on him that “maybe Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more” than just presents and feasting. The Grinch’s shrunken heart suddenly grows three sizes. The Grinch reforms and returns to the village to return all of the Christmas stuff to the Whos before participating in their Christmas feast.

Democrats and the Grinch both hate Christmas, but there are more similarities between the two than just a hatred of a holiday.

The Grinch lives by himself with a dog. Democrats, similarly, tend to value the lives of animals over other people. Of course the Grinch doesn’t have children, or a wife.

The Grinch has a “heart two sizes too small”, and Democrats simply don’t have hearts. Well, at the very least, their heart lets them feel okay with policies that allow for babies to be murdered. That’s pretty gosh darn heartless.

The Grinch takes presents from everyone. Democrats want to raise taxes, and take from everyone. That similarity might be the most obvious, but then he does this…

The Grinch then acts like some sort of hero for returning the gifts he originally stole. Similarly, democrats act like heroes when they spend tax dollars on anything, as though they did more than pass a bill that demands more money taken from you and me.

The Grinch is a story about being a democrat. He sits around complaining about people celebrating a holiday. He lives alone with an animal (he wasn’t previously married, he’s a forever loner). He takes from people, and then returns it while acting like a savior in the process.

Obviously, the Whos represent the American people. They are just minding their own business, completely unaware of the Grinch taking from them. When they wake up and realize they had been robbed, they praise the Grinch for returning the gifts (completely unaware he was the one who stole it). They even let him carve the “roast beast”. Those fools…

The one difference between the Grinch and democrats is this: the Grinch eventually discovered what it was like to care for others… Democrats, not so much… But boy, they sure will tell you they do… Just don’t let them near young kids or pregnant mothers…
