Folks, this is what a real whistleblower looks like. They put their jobs on the line for the sake of the truth.
Days after the footage of Amy Robach admitting ABC had “everything” on Epstein, the network demanded the former employee who leaked the footage be fired from her new job at CBS.
The network, and its parent company Disney, are clearly more concerned about their secrets being exposed than they are about sharing the truth, hence why they haven’t aired the interview.
Within hours after the Robach tape leaked, ABC had started looking into how the tape got out.
“We take violations of company policy very seriously, and we’re pursuing all avenues to determine the source of the leak,” a spokesperson for ABC News said.
From The Daily Caller:
ABC News has launched an investigation to determine who leaked the video of anchor Amy Robach alleging that the network killed her story on Jeffrey Epstein, it said in a statement Wednesday.
Robach was caught on camera alleging that the network killed her interview with Epstein accuser Virginia Roberts Giuffre, according to a video Project Veritas released Tuesday. The anchor said Buckingham Palace threatened ABC News after finding out Prince Andrew was a part of the story and added that she “had all of” the reporting years ago. Epstein was accused of sex trafficking children.
As a fan of truth, I was disappointed to find that the focus of ABC is to not release the tape, but instead punish the person who made the public aware of the tape’s existence.
What ABC News executives do know is that the former employee is now working at CBS News, the sources said. I’m told that ABC News executives have informed their counterparts at CBS News that this person accessed the footage of Robach. It’s unclear if CBS News plans on taking any action against the employee.
5. Update: Two sources familiar with the matter tell me that CBS News has fired the staffer in question. This comes after ABC informed CBS that they had determined who accessed the footage of Amy Robach expressing her frustrations about the Epstein story. https://t.co/OHEoyahppY — Yashar Ali 🐘 (@yashar) November 7, 2019
According to The Daily Caller, that employee has since been let go.
