In a world where everyone seems to be offended by anything, and everything, it’s no shock that actor Kevin Hart stepped down from hosting this years Oscars. What once was a prestigious show full of honoring great filming, and absolutely amazing acting, it seems as though too many people have taken something grand and turned it into a horrible display of political agenda.
After someone seamlessly went back years upon years into his Twitter account and found an old Tweet from 2011, Hart decided to step down from hosting the awards show after people got fumed over it. Not that he is really missing out on much, maybe he’s secretly relieved to not host such a disappointment in what should be an amazing night of honoring the arts.
Harts Tweet read: ““Yo if my son comes home & try’s 2 play with my daughters doll house I’m going 2 break it over his head & say n my voice ‘stop that’s gay,’” After the Tweet resurfaced it seems Hart, or someone on his side, deleted the Tweet. But it was a little late since it was put out there for the world to revisit.
Here lately it seems as though the awards show has turned into a hate group, always having something terrible to say about our President. It’s no wonder rating have dropped, and so many people no longer watch any awards shows. I personally stopped watching after awards shows like this after Meryl Streep went off at the 2017 Golden Globes.
When people in the position of power, use that position to bully others, it leaves a bad taste in your mouth.
Pat Sajak, ex-weatherman, and most notably known for his hosting career on Wheel Of Fortune, took to the interwebs to state his opinion on the matter, and what he said is genius!
In a Tweet Pat stated: “Here’s a quick fix for the Academy Awards show: expand it to two nights. On the first night, give out awards, and celebrate the history and wonder of movies. On the second night, hold you political rally.”
What an ingenious idea! I mean really though, all of us movie buffs and art lovers can sit down and watch something truly beautiful unfold, without any hate or speeches about hating our President, or what we should or should not support. Mr. Sajak may just be onto something here.
If they did this, I for one would be watching night one. Night two, not so much, I’d rather watch my cat puke up a hairball, than watch the hatred ensue.
One Twitter person even went on to have an even better idea in rebuttal to Mr. Sajak’s idea, and we love it even more!
Right on Mr. Bob Dobalena, we’re right there with you!
