After Players “Take A Knee” In Preseason, Tim Tebow Makes A Huge Statement About The NFL

In America there’s an interesting trend, where one can have any sort of crazy belief they like and it is perfectly fine and acceptable.

That is, you can believe whatever you want, and it’s backed up and validated, right up until you want to be a Bible believing Christian. THAT’S where the Bible hating, tolerant, liberal left draw the line. Case in point – Tim Tebow.

Tebow made headlines around the world during his all too short professional football career when he would take a knee to pray when stepping on to the field, or when he threw a pass for a touchdown. His display stood out like a sore thumb, to the non religious establishment. Of course it drew criticism and snickering, his trademark kneel was dubbed “Tebowing.”

Tim was not protesting anything. He was only publicly acknowledging a faith in Jesus Christ. He was clean cut, with an amazing back story, he grew up in the Philippines with his missionary parents. His faith is true blue, Christian. As much ridicule as was directed at him, it only further served to advance who he was off the field. He’s a likable guy. He looks like the quintessential American Quarterback, and he’s used his fame to bring attention to missions work, charities, and Christian ideals.

What gives? There are all sort of fake news stories about Tebow getting drunk and misbehaving, and no one bats an eye. Why? Because he chose to display his faith in Jesus Christ.

Why then are those who have joined in with Colin Kaepernick viewed as heroes?

Kaepernick feels that there’s a severe imbalance in the scales of justice when it comes to race relations, and that singing the Star Spangled Banner before every game is dishonoring to those Americans who in his opinion have been run over by the justice system. He now infamously began taking a knee in an act of civil disobedience.

In America, sports are the real religion, and having your preference of Football, Baseball, or Basketball, is like identifying with Baptist, Methodist, or Presbyterian. So when you disrespect Football in this case, you’re disrespecting a religion. It’s the same effect that Sinead O’Connor had on the masses when she ripped up a picture of the Pope on Saturday Night Live. In the opinion of the public at large, there are things you just don’t do.

Kaepernick’s protest has many pegging the decline of NFL tv ratings on his very act of defiance. The attention to it cooled off over the off season, but things kicked up another 20 levels when President went off script and said that anyone who takes a knee should be fired.

This was all the ammo the left needed to rally en masse around Kaepernick and the larger issue at hand. If they were on the fence, Trump’s comments pushed them to the other side for sure.

Sunday, September 24th saw a nation wide protest of solidarity as players across the country “took a knee.” It’s the same act as Tebow, but why the different reactions?

In a way this all started with Tebow, just making a non verbal declaration of faith. A declaration that proved too much for the secular masses to handle. Reporters caught up with Tebow to ask him is opinion of Kaepernick’s protest.

“When people have belief in something, or a conviction in something, trying to stand for that is a good thing,” Tebow said, according to USA Today’s Bob Nightengale. “It’s all about standing for it the right way.” – Tim Tebow

It’s safe to say that Tebow doesn’t believe that opting out of the National Anthem is the best way to protest this issue.

Kaepernick’s protest speaks volumes to the social climate in our country. There’s so much hatred toward our President, that it became a rallying cry for a large segment of the country. Many NFL teams opted to stand for unity, arms interlocked while the National Anthem played.

The biggest show of defiance was from the Pittsburg Steelers, the entire team stayed in the locker room! Only one brave soul, Alejandro Villanueva chose to take the field and salute the flag. Villanueva is a former Army Ranger, and knew what he had to do, and what he couldn’t do.

The Steeler’s actions drew responses like this from the internet…

The protests are becoming more and more extreme because people still feel like they’re not being heard. John F. Kennedy spoke to situations like what we’re experiencing now when he said,

“Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable.”

It’s obvious, the nation is hurting, and largely people just want to know that they’re heard and not just tolerated and brushed away. Free speech will be protected in this country, but it doesn’t make the actions any less dishonorable toward the men and women who fought and died for our country.

SHARE this if you will STAND with Tim Tebow!
